“I am the good shepherd; I know my own sheep, and they know me,
For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.
Romans 8:15, 16
For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, “Abba! Father!” The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God,
The LORD is my light and my salvation—so why should I be afraid? The LORD is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble?
I trust in God, so why should I be afraid? What can mere mortals do to me?
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
Will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the LORD, “My refuge and my fortress,
My God, in whom I trust!”
I will lift up my eyes to the mountains; From where shall my help come? My help comes from the LORD, Who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to slip; He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, He who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The LORD is your keeper; The LORD is your shade on your right hand. The sun will not smite you by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD will protect you from all evil; He will keep your soul. The LORD will guard your going out and you’re coming in from this time forth and forever.
In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, O LORD, will keep me safe.
One day Jesus called together his twelve disciples and gave them power and authority to cast out all demons and to heal all diseases.
Jesus called his twelve disciples together and gave them authority to cast out evil spirits and to heal every kind of disease and illness.
So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the LORD your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.”
This is my command–be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”
You need not be afraid of sudden disaster or the destruction that comes upon the wicked,
Fearing people is a dangerous trap, but trusting the LORD means safety.
“Come now, let’s settle this,” says the LORD. “Though your sins are like scarlet, I will make them as white as snow. Though they are red like crimson, I will make them as white as wool.
Let the wicked change their ways and banish the very thought of doing wrong. Let them turn to the LORD that he may have mercy on them. Yes, turn to our God, for he will forgive generously.
“I am leaving you with a gift–peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.
Now all glory to God, who is able to keep you from falling away and will bring you with great joy into his glorious presence without a single fault. All glory to him who alone is God, our Savior through Jesus Christ our Lord. All glory, majesty, power, and authority are his before all time, and in the present, and beyond all time! Amen.
